“Official letters: understanding them and acting on time while working on everything else… Foldy has been a game changer for me. It made my life easier and reduced my stress level greatly! I can recommend it to everyone working in Germany who struggles with German letters. Data protection is a big topic for Maria, so feel safe to try it.”

“For me it’s about having every document organized in one place. The process is so simple: a letter arrives, I take a photo and it’s already filed exactly where it belongs. I kept meaning to sort everything into Google Drive, but that takes forever. With Foldy it’s seamless.”

“I’d already tried different apps, but for me they were more cumbersome than just keeping everything in one place. Foldy seems to be the solution that means my laziness no longer makes me lose track of everything. I’m already looking forward to the Android version.”
Scan Documents with your phone or add PDF from your device or cloud storage.
Foldy creates summaries, tasks, and reminders from your documents. Before AI processing, the app tries to remove direct identifiers from the text.
Use full-text search to find what you need. For example, all contracts or invoices from the same insurance provider.
Foldy can be downloaded for free. The Free plan includes document scanning, text extraction, in-document search, and iCloud sync. Pro features, including document summaries, reminders, and appointments, require a paid subscription. See the Pricing page for the current price and feature details.
Yes. With Foldy Business, companies give each employee their own private place for official letters, for €24 per user per year. Book a demo to set it up for your team.
AI features are off by default. If you turn them on, Foldy sends the text of your document to Amazon Bedrock (AWS), where it's processed on servers in the EU. We never see your documents, and Bedrock doesn't keep them or use them to train AI.
The app sends the text directly to Amazon Bedrock, not through Foldy's servers. Bedrock uses the text only to create your result. It does not store or log the text, so nothing is left to delete, and it does not use it to train AI models. Claude runs inside AWS, and Anthropic has no access to your text. The text is encrypted on its way to and from Bedrock.
Foldy is designed for official letters and everyday paperwork, including documents from government offices, insurers, landlords, and other organizations. You can add PDFs, scans, and photos, provided the text is sufficiently clear. Results may vary depending on image quality, handwriting, document structure, and language.
No. Foldy explains the contents of documents and helps identify possible tasks, dates, and next steps. It does not replace legal, tax, financial, or professional advice. Always verify important information with the relevant authority or a qualified professional.
Your documents are stored on your device, and on iOS they can sync through your own iCloud account. Foldy never stores them on its own servers. AI features are off by default. If you turn them on, the text of your document is sent to Amazon Bedrock (AWS) in the EU, which doesn't keep it or use it to train AI. See the App Privacy Policy for details.
The Foldy app is available in five languages: English, German, Italian, Spanish, and Ukrainian. It's designed to help you understand official German letters and supports German-language documents. This website is currently available in English and German.
Some features may work on your device without a connection. AI features need a network connection, because the text of your document is sent to Amazon Bedrock (AWS) for processing.
Storage and chat tools don't keep watch for you. A folder won't track a deadline, and a chatbot only answers when you remember to ask.
Folders only help if you remember where you filed things. Foldy finds any letter by what's inside it, not by a folder name you have to recall, so you're not hunting for that one document right before a deadline.
Translation gives you the words, not what they mean for you. A translated official letter still leaves you guessing what to actually do. Foldy explains it in plain language and tells you the next step and the deadline.
